Your visit to Highland Park OB-GYN Associates involves a few special steps so that we can get to know you. To understand what to expect, please read through this page. You'll find all the practical information you need, such as a map and directions to our office, practice hours, payment policies and more.

Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that Dr. Steven Valfer and Dr. Regan Valfer has all needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling. Take some time to review our services and familiarize yourself with the doctors and their hospital affiliation. We look forward to your first visit.

Appointments: 

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment so we can welcome you to our office and expedite your remaining paperwork and update all necessary information needed to see your physician.  We ask that you and anyone accompanying you have a face mask, as it is an office requirement to wear one throughout your office visit at Highland Park OB-GYN Associates. 

Scheduled patients with appointments will receive a text message approximately  1 hour prior to the scheduled office visit.  At the bottom of the message, there will be a link to Check-in.  Upon finishing, a message will pop up that the Check-in has been successful and that our Highland Park OB-GYN Front Office staff will call you to come in.  If a call has not been received within 5 minutes, please call our office to notify us you’ve arrived at 847-272-7777

What to Bring:  

When you arrive for your appointments, please make sure to bring the following information:

  • Driver’s License or another photo I.D.

  • Insurance Card(s)

  • List of current medications (i.e., prescription medications and over-the-counter vitamins and supplements)

  • Method of Payment

Forms:  

Our office staff is dedicated and will assist you in determining which forms to complete for your upcoming appointment(s). We request patient forms are completed 5 days prior to your scheduled appointment to include a copy of your identification card, insurance card, referral and clinical information from another physician or facility.

Cancel or Reschedule Appointment:  

Recognizing that everyone's time is valuable and appointment time is limited, Highland Park OB-GYN Associates, LTD requests that you provide at least 24-hour notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. 

Each appointment missed prevents another patient from receiving medical care. Highland Park OB-GYN Associates, LTD will charge a fee of $50.00 for each appointment that isn't canceled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. That fee will be billed to the patient; That fee is not covered by insurance. 

Late Arrival:

We respect the time of all our patients. We strive to stay on schedule so that you do not have to wait. If you arrive late to your appointment every effort will be made to see you the same day, however, you may be asked to wait or reschedule your appointment.

Highland Park OB-GYN Patient Portal:

Our patient portal was created to facilitate better communication with you and our office by providing convenient 24x7 access from the comfort and privacy of your own home or office. By registering and logging onto our patient portal, you'll be able view your health records, send messages, view statements and more.

Insurance and Billing:

Our office accepts a variety of health plans to include HMOs, PPOs, Medicare, commercial, etc.

Call your insurance company to confirm that your specific plan and policy is in network with Highland Park OB-GYN Associates, LTD and its physicians: Dr. Steven Valfer, M.D. and Dr. Regan Valfer, M.D.

Copay(s), Deductible(s) and Balance(s) will be collected at time of service. Our office staff understands the complexity of insurance and is dedicated to confirming your eligibility and benefit status prior to your visit and ask you to review your insurance benefit and coverage prior to your office visit. We accept cash, check, debit, American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover, and Apple Pay.

After Hours:

Please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital if your medical condition is life-threatening. Dr. Steven Valfer and Dr. Regan Valfer are on call 24/7 after hours for emergencies. Please call our MAIN OFFICE phone number at 847-272-7777 and you'll be connected to our answering service. Perfect Serve will assist you in leaving a message for the office or contacting Dr. Steven Valfer or Dr. Regan Valfer with your emergent needs.
